CNN's report on Catherine Howard of CA's loss of job, cancer diagnosis and treatment, $100,000 medical debt, is chilling. Previously Existing Conditions will sink ALL Americans in future. We ALL are getting older, sicker, and some of us have lost health insurance, jobs, and funds to pay for anything (insurance, Dr visits, meds, labs, etc.)
Health insurance and retirment funds should be portable and NOT attached to one job. Moving from one job to another is just the break insurance companies use to deny future coverage.
Increases in co=pays, reduction in Medicare service coverage, reduction in payments to Dr, labs, outpatient services are sinking me. I took p/t job to cover shortfall five (5) years ago. since then, increases in my copay and reduction in Medicare coverage have kept me working. Now with annuncement COLA won't be given next year and 2011, I MUST continue working to cover previous medical costs and now these additional health costs.
I may never be able to retire and still be able to pay my bills..
Obama Health Care shakeup needs to eliminate some plans and get all into fewer plans. More partifipants get lower costs. Govt employees ALL need to be in SAME Healt Care Plan.
Previously have written about this situ and need to hear from you concerning this. I will be sure to put up my old web pages to disseminate info and keep track of responses.
