Do NOT Fund Abortion with Health Care Reform

Dear Representative:
As you consider health care reform legislation, I urge you to support the Stupak-Pitts amendment to ensure abortion is not funded by U.S. taxpayers in the health care bill (H.R. 3962) and oppose any fake "compromise" such as the Ellsworth amendment which would still allow government funding of abortion. Most Americans do not support federal funding of abortion. The health care bill (H.R. 3962) would spend federal funds on elective abortions in the public option and subsidize health plans that cover elective abortion. Congress should not force Americans to be complicit in abortion by paying for it with government funds. I ask that you support the Stupak-Pitts amendment to remove abortion funding from the bill. If their amendment is not allowed to receive a vote, I ask that you oppose the "Rule" governing debate. Thank you for your consideration.
